Exhibition Park in Canberra hosts the National Folk Festival during the Easter Week. The Nordic folk group Færd will perform during the festival.
Færd is a trio whose music crosses borders between styles, nationalities and traditions. Færd’s latest cd “Logbok”, released in September 06, reports musical calls in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, The Faroe Islands, Shetland, England, Holland and New Zealand. The material is a mix of traditional and new composed tunes and songs by a wide range of musicians and composers from all over the world.
Færd consists of Peter Uhrbrand, prize-winning Danish fiddle and viola player; Jens Ulvsand, Swedish guitar, bouzouki player and singer; and Eskil Romme, saxophonist, accordion player and singer from Denmark.
The trio has previously toured in Denmark, Italy, Holland, Germany, The Faroes, Spain, Australia and New Zealand, and is now coming back to the land down under.
