International Ibsen Scholarships 2009

09/04/2009 // In 2009 the International Ibsen Scholarships will be awarded for the second time. The scholarships are meant to act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen. Individuals, organizations or institutions within the artistic and cultural community may apply. Applications are accepted until May 1.

The International Ibsen Scholarships were established by the Norwegian parliament in 2007. The Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs administers the funds, while the Skien municipality carry out the administrative support functions for the scholarships and the review panel.

 In 2009, the International Ibsen Scholarships will be awarded for the second time since they were inaugurated. In total, scholarship funds amount to NOK 1,000,000. The scholarships are meant to act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen.

 The Norwegian government welcome applications from projects all over the world, and encourage applicable individuals, organizations and institutions within the artistic and cultural communities to apply.

 The application deadline is May 1st, 2009.

 The scholarships are awarded in agreement with a professional review panel, which consists of three people. Presentation of the scholarships is staged in Skien on September 11th, 2009 and coincides with the Skien International Ibsen Conference.
