The Norwegian Prime Minster visits Perth, WA.

Last updated: 08/12/2011 // The Norwegian Prime Minister, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg is visiting Australia as a guest of the Australian Government. His first stop is Perth, where he will focus on opportunities for closer economic cooperation, in particular in the oil and gas sector as well as the shipping and maritime offshore sectors.

In Perth, the Prime Minister will meet with the Hon. Colin Barnett, Premier of Western Australia, and take part in several Norwegian-Australian business events. A large Norwegian business delegation as well as State Secretary Henriksen from the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy is accompanying the Prime Minister.

Yesterday, State Secretary Henriksen met with the Hon Martin Ferguson AM MP, Minister for Resources, Energy and Tourism, and together they attended the official opening of the Norwegian company Kværner’s new office in Perth.

Both the Norwegian Ambassador to Australia and the Australian Ambassador to Norway are also taking part in the Prime Minister’s official program in Perth.

From Perth, the Prime Minister will travel on to Canberra before visiting Sydney, New Zealand and Antarctica.
