The Norwegian drama scene is wonderfully varied, and this diversity is reflected by the 17 playwrights presented in Norwegian Drama Now 2014. Culture has been high on the Norwegian government’s agenda over the past decade, which has had a remarkable effect across the arts. Coming from a small country with a language spoken mostly by its 5 million inhabitants, a challenge for contemporary Norwegians authors is to seek a broader audience and be seen in an international context.
