Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference 2017

Last week the 36th Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference (AOG) took place in Perth, West Australia. This is the largest Australian gathering of a diverse set of actors from the oil- and gas industry.

Norway has a very visible presence at the AOG through the Commercial Norwegian Pavilion. The Norwegian companies Øgland Systems, Framo, Epsis and Tieto and many others were present with stands at the Conference.

This year, the Norwegian Embassy, Norwegian Energy Partners (Norwep), Statoil, GCE Subsea and the Commercial Norwegian Pavilion hosted a Norwegian Subsea Showcase at AOG, opened by Ambassador Unni Kløvstad. The Norwegian Subsea Showcase at AOG demonstrated the success of the Norwegian Subsea Compression System, spanning almost three decades of research, testing, and rigorous technology qualification on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The Norwegian subsea industry has succeeded due to hard work, innovation and collaboration. Statoil, OneSubsea, Aker Solutions, and TechnipFMC held convincing presentations to the Australian audience on how Norwegian companies have joined forces to develop this unique Subsea Compression System.

The Norwegian Embassy together with Norwegian Energy Partner (Norwep, GCE Subsea and Struktur, hosted the yearly Norwegian River Cruise on the Swan River in Perth during AOG.
This successful networking event drew over 150 participants from the Norwegian business community and their clients. Representatives from Western Australia academia and State Government officials were also present at this networking event.

While in Perth, Ambassador Kløvstad, also visited the Norwegian companies Farstad Shipping, Subsea7 and Siem Offshore.   The companies gave the Ambassador interesting overviews of their businesses, including current and future business opportunities and general market outlook.
