The Inaugural Nordic Film Festival - 16th October to 3rd November 2009

The Nordic Embassies are proud to announce that the inaugural Nordic Film Festival in Australia will be held between 16th October and 3rd November. The festival will feature some of the finest of new Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish films. Many have never been screened in Australia before, so moviegoers can look forward to an exciting spring.

Solar silicon production takes off in Norway

In late 2008 - early 2009, Norwegian Orkla-owned Elkem Solar AS completed a new metallurgical plant for smelting silicon and tested its innovative production line in Kristiansand, southern Norway. The project has been partly financed with a loan from NIB totalling EUR 145 million.
