Lost passports

08/01/2007 ::
If you have lost your passport and are quite sure that it cannot be found, the loss should first be reported to the local police, who will give you a report reference number.

Please contact the Embassy or your nearest Norwegian Consulate office to make an appointment to apply for a new passport.  When you attend the Consulate's office you should take with you the following:

* The above-mentioned police report number.

* Any details of your passport, including photocopies which you may have.

* Details of your existing visa - you may have an electronic visa which was not inserted into the passport.

* Two passport photographs.  These must be no more than 3 months old and professionally taken - not from a photo booth or personally produced digital photos. They must be on light background and taken straight on and not on an angle.

* Any other form of identification which you may have.

* $205 passport application fee.

Please be aware that the new biometric passports cannot be issued in Australia and that it may take up to 5 weeks from time of application until the new passport is received.
