Nobel festivities in Oslo

Kylie Minogue tops the line-up at the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo on 11 December. Star hosts Uma Thurman and Kevin Spacey, accompanied by world renowned artists, honour the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Al Gore and IPCC.

31/12/2007 :: Kylie will be joined by  world  renowned  acts  including  Alicia  Keys,  Melissa  Etheridge,  Annie Lennox, Juanes,  KT  Tunstall,  Earth  Wind  &  Fire,  Junoon,  Morten  Harket  and  the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

In the name of climate change
This  year’s concert  will put on a spectacular show to honour  laureates Al  Gore  and  the Intergovernmental  Panel  on  Climate  Change  (IPCC)  for  their  efforts  to  build  up  and disseminate greater  knowledge  about  man‐made  climate  change.

Broadcast to 100 countries
The annual  concert is  presented  by  the Norwegian  Nobel  Committee,  is  broadcast  to  more  than 100  countries  worldwide.   The  award  is  presented every year to  an  individual  whose humanitarian efforts  exemplify  a  spirit  of  generosity  and  leadership  that  helps to  spread the  positive message  manifested  by  the  Nobel  Peace  Prize  throughout  the  world.

Prestigious prize
The  Nobel  Peace  Prize  is  the  most  prestigious  award  in  the  world,  honouring  icons  such as Mother  Teresa,  Nelson  Mandela,  Mikhail  Gorbachev,  Archbishop  Desmond  Tutu,  Jimmy Carter,  Kofi  Annan,  and  other  remarkable  individuals  and  organizations.   For  the  past  decade, the  Nobel  Peace  Prize  Ceremony  has  been  followed  the  next  day  by  the  Nobel  Peace  Prize Concert.
